Are you primarily looking for a holiday/travel experience, a learning experience, a work experience, or a combination? Please explain fully & honestly what you expect.

Are there tasks or weather conditions you would not be prepared to help with on the ranch/around the house?

Tell me about a time where there was something you were responsible for & you didn't get it done. How did you handle that situation? What could have changed that situation?

Imagine you broke something or made a mistake you were afraid of us knowing about. How would handle it? What could reduce the change of this happening?

Tell us about a time you were involved in a task or something you did not agree with. How did you handle it? Maybe a time you were told to do something on way but you wanted to do it another way. How did you handle that, who was correct?

Tell me about a day in you life you considered to be a busy or full day? When did it start, break times, when did it end, and what did you deal with/achieve in the day.

Imagine you think there is a better or faster way to do a task than the way we taught/showed you. What would you do?

Imagine you and another helper are working together and you both think you know how something should be done. But it's maybe not the way we showed you or you aren't sure. What would you do?

What's an example of something you feel like you could go ahead and do on the ranch (inside the ranch house) or outside without permission of the owners?

Tell us about a time you did something helpful that nobody specifically asked you to do.

What do you feel the difference is between a Guest Ranch, Dude Ranch, and being a farm -stay helper who is here to contribute?

How do you feel your commitment will be when you are on our ranch for a short period and the affects of how you leave, your results while here are no longer your problem when you leave?

You have a job that maybe you don't enjoy that should normally say take 30 min, and you find it's taking you over 1 hour to do as you are distracted by your phone or discussing things with your fellow helper. What would you do? Does the extra time count?

When you are helping someone else, and working alone without being supervised. How do you stay motivated? Give a real life example.

What things in the home do you feel are okay for helpers to decide to organize or clean on their own without asking?

What rooms do you feel would be off limits for helpers and private to for the owners? What do boundaries and respect of culture and how an owner arranges & managers their home mean to you?

Imagine you notice an animal acting different or injured. What would you do?

Imagine you were asked to do a task or work with an animal you didn't feel like you knew enough about or didn't feel comfortable. What would you do?

Imagine another helper suggests doing something different than what is on the chore list or we explained/taught. Maybe it's with an animal or another task. What would you do?

Imagine you have a conflict with another worker or one of us. Or are concerned about something about the stay. How would you handle it? eg. ignore it, leave, bring it up on the group chat, discuss it. Or other?

Tell me about a time a horse or another animal you were handling was not acting in the way you wanted them to. Maybe they were flighty. Describe how they were acting and what caused it, what do did you do?

How do you consider your experience? Do you have lots you can teach us? Lots to learn? Do you feel you can do the work without asking questions, or would ask lots of questions.

What would you do if another worker was not pulling their weight or completing their tasks?

How do you normally handle frustration when you are tired, uncomfortable, or do not understand why something is being done a certain way?

Tell me about a time someone told you you did a task or something incorrectly. What could have avoided the situation? How did you feel? What do you do going forward?

What do you think the people who live with you would say your greatest strength is? What do you feel they would say you need to improve?

Is there anything about Real Ranch Work, shared living, animals, weather, physical work, early mornings, maybe late nights, dirt, noise, or being away from home that you're unsure about?

What cowboy shows have you seen? (eg. Yellowstone). How do you feel our ranch compares to them?

How do you feel about other helpers being on the ranch at the same time as your stay? Does more people mean there's less responsibility for your tasks?

Imagine you are frustrated with another helper or some of the other helpers are talking negatively about the other helpers or the owners. How would you handle this situation?

How do you see this stay benefits you? Are you wanting to get to know us or hang with the other helpers?

What do you expect your day to look like?

Tell us in detail your riding experience & horse training or other experience. What methods do you use? Who inspires your ways of handling horses? Are you methods the best?

What jobs do you consider part of your 6+ daily hours of help? What does efficiency mean to you?

How do you feel about the fact that somethings we will both be off the ranch tending to other tasks while you and/or other helpers are on the ranch dealing with the tasks you are assigned? How will you as a group stay motivated and organized?

Do you have any allergies or physical restrictions that may affect some jobs you help with?

What is your expectations of the stay with us?

Are you hoping to see the surrounding area and events? If so how many days in your stay would you want for this? How would you travel there? Would you expect a vehicle? Are you prepared to pay for fuel and wear and tear expenses?

How do you feel about coming to a self started real working ranch? We are not rich, we cannot fix problems with money. Sometimes real stuff happens, the day plans change, animals can sometimes pass during a stay. How will you cope and handle this?
